Sandra is a very open minded person who believes in the power of being nice. I'm not just saying that. There's a teen club in our town that is known for allowing (usually) grown men and young teens (usually girls) be in the same vicinity grinding on one another. It has a bad reputation for that, but many people (especially) high schoolers still go. A while ago i was very curious about it so i dragged my BFF and lets just say i was not a happy camper. About 2 years after i was old enough to go to an actual club and it was sooo much better. About a month or 2 Sandra dragged a couple of our friends and i to go to the club. I went because Sandra had no idea what was about to go down that night. After having my first experience i vowed to never EVER go back. But because of Sandra i did. That night it was all what i expected lets just say it was stomp the yard in there. Sandra was soo happy. My face dropped. Needless to say we didn't stay for much longer. Sandra is definitively fearless.
Even though i haven't had a lot of chances to hangout with Marina, you get the notion that she is very sweet and doesn't have a problem saying things how its is which i can appreciate. I met her parents yesterday at her graduation BBQ which her host parents were hosting. I asked her if she cried when she saw her parents after a year if living here in the U.S and she very bravely said no. I looked at her with disbelief. Her mother looks just like her and Marina's smile imitates her father's. Last night wasn't much of an American BBQ it was quite different. It consisted of sausage that was from Germany that is well known in Wisconsin (where Marina's host parents are both from), pesto noodles, veggie burgers and potato salad. Marina's parents brought a Spanish wine that tasted like honey and rum that is usually passed around during dessert time and is poured directly into the mouth by a funny looking glass. They also had bon bones, which every Hispanic country has a different concept of making. The almonds were friend and covered in dark chocolate. It was soooo yummy!Sandra too was there at the BBQ and said she seemed more excited to meet Marina's parents then Marina was. Marina said the same thing about Sandra's parents. Which i believe ( Sandra's parents) arrived last night. Both of their families are here for prom and for their graduations. It most be so amazing to see your parents after a year.
Marina leaves in less than 2 weeks for good and Sandra leaves in i believe sometime close to July, and won't return for 2 years where she hopes to return to the U.S to study at Penn State University. Marina was unsure if she wanted to return to study here once she finishes school but i know she seemed less hesitant of the idea of living here after furthering her studies.
